Sessions focusing on developing an understanding of the world around

Sessions can focus on a wide range of areas; sessions with a focus on developing an understanding of the world around will focus on the animals we bring, life cycles of the animals, their breeds, species and the differences between them. The detail and depth of learning around the breeds will depend on understanding, prior knowledge and aims of the group.

The sessions also look at the correct care each animals needs and gives every pupil the opportunity to take part in all aspects of the animals care from filling water bottles, cleaning out hutches, setting up play pens and learning about food, hay and straw.

We use a range of widgit symbol and written resources to support learning about the animals and their care.
